Life can legit be stressful sometimes - school work, exams, bad dates, break ups, or after you’ve binge watched your fav show and have to wait a year for the next installment (spoiler alert Flunk has new episodes dropping every damn day). It can be enough to bring anyone to tears every now and again.
But don’t even stress – crying is actually good for you. Studies have shown it can reduce anxiety, relieve stress and improve your overall mood.
We asked our cast to share the last time they cried.
“I actually wear contact lenses and my eyes get teary [so] everyone thinks I'm crying,” Jess (Ingrid) told us. “But the last time that I emotionally cried was probably on Christmas day.” Jess explained the high expectations placed on the holiday can be really stressful – “You can't not celebrate. It's shoved down your throat. Christmas just gets me down.”
The last time Uisce’s (Harry) cried it was pure, happy tears - “On New Years [my girlfriend] gave me a jar with 52 notes, one for each week of the year. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever.” Now that’s some serious #relationshipgoals right there.
“The last time I cried was probably watching a movie, 'cause I cry all the time in movies,” Akasha (Stella) shared. “It was called Swiss Army Man. It's a comical movie but I was bawling my eyes out.”
Beau (Ed) explained the positive aspects of being in touch with your emotions – “with acting, being able to channel that [emotion] and use it in the art is definitely something that's good.”
